What computer hardware is best for running Photoshop?

Aug 12, 1:56AM EDT0

Hope this can guide you.

Processor (CPU)

When it comes to CPUs there are two main specifications that define the capability of a CPU: The frequency directly affects how many operations a single CPU core can complete in a second (how fast it is). The number of cores is how many physical cores there are within a CPU (how many operations it can run simultaneously).

Video Card (GPU)

Adobe has been increasing support for GPU acceleration in Photoshop over the last few years, but currently there are only a handful of effects that can utilize the video card.

Although Adobe is adding GPU acceleration support to Photoshop, the current demand on the video card is actually relatively light. Even an entry video card will be able to provide a huge boost in performance for GPU accelerated effects and there is a sharp drop in performance benefit by using anything more than a mid-range video card. There is still a performance benefit to using a high-end card like the GTX 1080, but beyond a GTX 1060 you are only going to see 2-3% faster performance by upgrading to a more expensive card.

Memory (RAM)

While the exact amount of RAM you need is going to depend on the size and number of images you will be working with, we generally recommend a minimum of 16GB for all our systems. Memory usage in Photoshop can quickly shoot up, however, so it is important that you ensure you have enough system RAM available. The exact amount you need will depend on exactly what you are doing, but based on your document size we recommend a minimum of 16GB of RAM for 500MB documents or smaller, 32GB for 500MB-1GB, and 64GB+ for even larger documents.

Storage (Hard Drives)

With the falling costs associated with SSDs, we almost always recommend using an SSD for the primary drive that will host your OS, Photoshop itself, and any active projects you are working on. The high speed of SSDs allows your system to boot, launch applications, and load files many times faster than any traditional hard drive. However, SSDs are still more expensive than traditional drives per GB - so for long term storage we recommend having a secondary traditional hard drive in addition to a primary SSD.

What are some of the things you can make with Canva for business?

Aug 11, 11:30PM EDT0

What I love about it is that whether you are a small or a big business, you can benefit from Canva in so many ways. I like the fact that it has the ability to work with a team and add different levels for people: administrators, template designers, and members. Very helpful. You can fit it in to the kind of business you do.

Aug 12, 10:43AM EDT0

May you tell me about functions of Canva in details?

Aug 12, 7:12PM EDT0

How much is the pro version and is it worth it?

Aug 11, 11:28PM EDT0

The cost of Photoshop various depending on which software you buy. Yes they are worth the price. Adobe Photoshop is just incredibly smooth and optimized to use.

If my computer shuts down abruptly because of a sudden power outage, will that affect anything I've got open in this software?

Aug 11, 11:24PM EDT0

It depends if it was set to auto save. There are some softwares that has auto save features yet some doesn't have and you will lose everything.

How is editing different from manipulation?

Aug 11, 3:03PM EDT0

Editing is to enhance the components of the image but when you change elements of the image like eliminating blemishes from a person’s face, changing the features of a person’s body, that's manipulation.

I am still in the processing of doing some trials and test. Currently testing Photoshop CS4 in ATI Radeon HD 4870 cards. I picked a mixed-bag of graphics tests, a few that are processor intensive, a few that use the GPU, and a few that are memory intensive.

Aug 12, 9:44PM EDT0

Do you sketch your designs first before converting them to digital format?

Aug 11, 12:24PM EDT0

My staff usually do these things but yes I require them to do so. Less pain in the head, less alterations and few more enhancements.
